Fan fiction and novel writing
An interesting review of a novel from a former fanfic writer. It does a very good job at expressing the differences between the two forms. Warning: the review uses various four letter Anglo-Saxon words you've been warned....
That's a great article. And she is so right... at least in my literarily snobby mind. However, the landscape of fiction is changing so much with the influx of fanfiction... is it another form of folk art? Should we be studying, rather than reviling it? Is the seemingly substandard literary quality really a respectable form of the people's expression?
